Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Statement

Foxbrush property Limited
v1.0 – last updated 26/07/23

Introduction

Foxbrush Property is a residential managing agent who looks after blocks of flats in London zones 1 & 2. As well as professional colleagues in the housing industry and commercial clients, we work with many private individuals who live in the buildings we manage.

No matter your age, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, neurodivergence or disability, you deserve to feel safe, respected and secure in your own home. We have therefore created this policy to reflect our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in everything that we do, and are proud to be the first residential managing agent in London to do so.

The aims and objectives set out in this statement are reflected in all of our internal policies, our ethos, and our ways of working. This is driven both by the moral case for diversity, equity and inclusion (a commitment to fairness, human rights and social justice) as well as our duty of care to our customers and tailoring our services to meet their needs.

Definitions

Diversity means that we are all different – in characteristics like our race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values system, national origin, and political beliefs, but also in many other ways such as our background, our experiences, how we think and how we like to communicate.

Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities, whereas equity recognises that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

At Foxbrush, we have chosen to focus on equity rather than equality because we recognise that each of our clients’ and customers’ needs are different and in order to provide the best possible service we must seek to meet these needs in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Inclusion is understanding all of the above and embracing everyone for who they are.

Commitments

Foxbrush Property aims to be an organisation where diversity, equity and inclusion is an ever-present part of who we are and how we work.

We will:

  • Treat people respectfully, politely and fairly and with dignity;

  • Be tolerant, understanding and non-judgemental;

  • Constantly strive to get to know our customers better so we can provide services and resources that meet their needs;

  • Provide or secure special assistance for individuals who require it;

  • Consider how the decisions we make about buildings we manage might impact diversity, equity and inclusion and champion these considerations with our clients;

  • Deal effectively and quickly with complaints of unfair treatment or any form of discrimination;

  • Promote and ‘role model’ these commitments when working with colleagues, partners and suppliers in the property industry; and

  • Comply with our legal and regulatory duties with respect to diversity, equity and inclusion.
